Kate Middleton rewears £5k pearl earrings from another poignant occasion at Trooping the Colour
The Princess of Wales arrived at this year's Trooping the Colour ceremony – her first appearance since her cancer diagnosis – wearing a white Jenny Packham outfit and matching Philip Treacy hat paired with pearl cluster earrings that the Royal previously wore on another significant family event.
Kate Middleton wore the Cavolfiore earrings from jewellery designer Cassandra Goad, which retail for £5,620. The Princess previously wore these earrings for Prince Louis' christening back in 2018, when she paired them with a cream outfit and statement headband.
The earrings – which are made from 18ct yellow gold with pearl and diamonds and are inspired by baskets of fruit, so says the jewellers' website – perfectly complemented the Princess' chic and simple outfit.
Kate – who posted a heartfelt message the day before the event, giving the public an update on her cancer diagnosis and delighting royal fans with the news that she will be joining the celebrations – is no stranger to rewearing outfits (and in particular key pieces of jewellery) for important events such as this.
Kate's black-and-white outfit for Trooping the Colour comes as somewhat of a surprise, as fashion experts expected the Princess to wear a shade of green, in honour of her appointment as Colonel of the Irish Guards.
She arrived at Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall in a horse and carriage with children George, 10, Charlotte, nine, and Louis, six, waving at onlookers who were thrilled to see the Princess out and about for the first time since her cancer diagnosis in January, before joining the rest of the Royal Family on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.
