Kate Ferdinand proudly shows daughter Shae taking first steps – but husband Rio points out background detail

Proud mum Kate Ferdinand has shared a clip of her baby daughter Shae taking her first steps. The ex-TOWIE favourite looked overjoyed as her 11 month old daughter walked towards her in the adorable video.

Kate, 33, who shares Shae and son Cree, three, with husband Rio Ferdinand, 45, emotionally told her fans: "My baby is on the move." The mum-of-two could be seen in the hallway at her family home, as she held up a book and encouraged Shae to step towards her.

While Kate's fans flocked to gush over the video, dad Rio was quick to point out his wife's collection of shoes in the background in a hilarious comment. The dad-of-five jokingly commented: "Please please please can u clean up your footwear in the cupboard before u film ffs."

While many laughed at Rio's comment, others gushed over Shae's first steps. Little Mix's Leigh-Anne Pinnock said: "Too cute," while Rio's daughter Tia Ferdinand said: "Love love love x".

"I just love this @xkateferdinand xxxx," a fan commented, while another added: "Aww how sweet well done xxx". Somebody else penned: "Precious moments, and I LOVE her romper."

Kate and Rio welcomed baby Shae in July 2023, following the arrival of their son Cree in 2020. Rio is also dad to Lorenz, 18, Tate, 15, and Tia, 13, from his marriage to late wife Rebecca Ellison, who tragically passed away in 2015, after battling breast cancer.

Kate, who found fame on The Only Way Is Essex, married Rio in 2019 and is now a doting stepmother to his three eldest children. She has produced a podcast about her experience as a stepmum, titled Blended, having been open about the challenges the role has come with.

Kate previously admitted that she didn’t quite know what she was letting herself in for when she started seeing the Manchester United legend. Speaking on Anna Richardson’s, It Can’t Just Be Me podcast, she said: "I went from being a single, carefree girl to a stepmum-of-three. And these kids have gone through so much, and there’s grief.

"It’s all a bit of a blur. It’s hard to know what you’re getting into sometimes until you’re actually in it. Until you’re in it, you don’t really realise. I felt a little bit shocked, I didn’t really know how to parent."
