Following the hugely sad end of the Kardashian-Jenners' legendary TV show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, we thought our time spent watching the famous family on screen was officially over. However, it was good news all round, as the reality stars soon returned with a new venture: Hulu/Disney+ series, The Kardashians.
Season one of The Kardashians has was filled with all the drama you'd expect from the KarJenners, plus much more. There were some adorable highs (Kourtney and Travis' love story and engagement), as well as some heartbreaking lows (Kim's sex tape battle and Khloé's reaction to Tristan's paternity scandal). And, naturally, fans can't wait to join the family for more.
Here's all the info we have so far on The Kardashians season two...
What is The Kardashians season 2's release date?
Big news, people. In mid-July, The Kardashians stars not only shared the first trailer for the second series of their show, but revealed a release date, too. "Season 2 coming September 22 🤍🤍#TheKardashians @kardashianshulu" Khloé Kardashian wrote on her Instagram grid.
The official Instagram account added, "Season 2? count us in 🤍 see you September 22 on @hulu, Disney+ internationally and Star+ in Latin America.
The first season was filmed around October to December 2021, before being released approximately four months later in April 2022 and running through to June. Keeping Up With The Kardashians typically saw the family release one to two seasons per year, although they were often made up of more episodes than The Kardashians S1, which was comprised of just ten.
Given the current filming schedule, we're hoping season two will be filmed between April - July 2022 (including *that* family trip to the Met Gala), and be released in September. We're ready for more!
When did The Kardashians season 2 start filming?
It looks as though filming for the second series of The Kardashians started almost immediately after the first season ended, which is exciting.
Back in June 2022, mere weeks after The Kardashians season one finished, Kylie Jenner shared a glimpse behind the scenes on the Kardashians set, posing by a golf buggy and a pair of trailers used during filming (spot the director's chair too).
She captioned the post, "Days on set with @kardashianshulu," soooo, yep, it definitely looks like filming has begun. See the post here.
When was season 2 of The Kardashians confirmed?
We got our first hint at S2 at the end of the Kardashians season one finale. The episode closed with a slide reading, "To be continued." What's more, The Kardashians executive producer Danielle King and Kris Jenner recently opened up about what we can expect in upcoming episodes (more on that below).
What has been said about The Kardashians season 2?
There's lots to get excited about! As mentioned above, momager Kris Jenner and Kardashians producer Danielle King have been discussing what's to come on the show in an episode of Deadline's Crew Call podcast.
As for one major plot point, Danielle confirmed that cameras were present for Kourtney and Travis' Italian wedding in May. She told listeners, "We are covering it," adding, "I think that’s something that we’ll tease and say you have to tune in." Teasing further details, she went on, "It’s going to be amazing, that much I know. Everyone’s gonna want to tune in."
We can't wait!
Who will appear in The Kardashians season 2?
Of course, we're expecting the key family members to be back. So, that's Kris Jenner, Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian, plus Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Kourtney's new husband Travis Barker had a large amount of screen time in season one, while Kourt's ex Scott Disick also appeared in multiple episodes - so we're expecting both to be back too.
Kardashian brother Rob didn't appear in season one due to reasons reportedly surrounding his desire to stay out of the spotlight, so it's likely that will stay the same for season two.
Meanwhile, Kim's new boyfriend Pete Davidson did have a small audio-only appearance in season one, with many fans hoping for him to join the cast properly in a second series.
Discussing whether we can expect Pete to appear on screen, producer Danielle King told the Crew Call podcast, "Whether we have in-depth story lines, that’s entirely up to him…that’s entirely a conversation between Kim and Pete."
Danielle did go on to tease some scenes where we might see Pete joining Kim on camera, including footage filmed during their Met Gala red carpet appearance. She explained, "He’s legitimately a part of Kim’s life, and so for those bigger moments - like when they went to the Met Ball - Pete was with her. He’s not like, 'Get the cameras away from me.' He joins in."
Here's hoping there'll be more Kete in season two!
