Despite being a Hollywood leading lady since the mid-1990s, Julianne Moore is continuing to impress with her youthful looks.

Now, the Oscar-winning actress, 60, has revealed the simple everyday habits helping slow the ageing process.

In an interview with The Sunday Times' Style, the mother-of-two explained: "My mother has a lot to do with it because she wouldn’t let us go in the sun.

"She couldn’t be in the sun and I look just like her. I wear a sunscreen on my face every day and a hat too.”

Moore – who shares son Caleb, 23, and 19-year-old daughter Liv with her film director husband Bart Freundlich – revealed that she includes lots of fish and vegetables in her diet.

She also has regular facials, including the beauty treatments microneedling and radio frequency.

The star added that she tries to do yoga four to five times a week, and that it has been the activity that has "saved" her during the pandemic.

Speaking about growing older in a famously ageist industry, the star described it as "silly" when it is a "privilege to continue to age.”

The Still Alice and A Single Man actress noted that when she was younger her "hard-working, laser-focused" personality did wonders for her career, but that her personal life "wasn't successful".

Moore said: "It wasn’t until I was in my early thirties that I decided, ‘I want that too.’ I wanted to have a family, to have children and to make sure I was with someone who wanted to have children too.”

She met Freundlich in 1996 when he directed her film The Myth of Fingerprints, and the pair married in 2003.

Captioning an Instagram picture of the couple last August, she wrote: "I said he should take a shower. He said my hair smelled bad, like mildew, or an old box.

"Happy 17th Wedding anniversary @freundlich96 - there is no one I’d rather be with everyday. I love you."
