Jennifer Lopez Announces "This Is Me Now: The Film"
Jennifer Lopez has always been someone who does it all.
Now, with the upcoming release of her ninth studio album This Is Me...Now, Lopez is set to raise the bar for herself again. The star announced today that her anticipated album is set to release on February 16th, 2024 after months of teasing the project to fans. Alongside with album's release, the singer will also release This Is Me..Now: The Film via Prime Video, a project that's described as "an intimate, fantastical and narrative-driven reflection of Lopez’s journey to find love" inspired by the coinciding album. Directed by Dave Meyers, the film is set to be a "genre-redefining immersive cinematic experience" filled with star studded cameos and ultimately a "ode to Lopez's journey of self-healing and everlasting belief in fairytale endings." The film also seems to be a family affair: Lopez's husband Ben Affleck (who she previously expressed heavily influenced the original This Is Me...Then record in 2002) is listed as a writer alongside Lopez for the upcoming feature.
The project marks Lopez's first full length record in nearly a decade, and the album's first single "Can't Get Enough" will be available to stream on January 10, 2024. Lopez also shared a sneak peek at the upcoming musical experience on social media for fans to see which included a snippet of the album's title track.
Lopez previously hinted at what was to come with new music earlier this year during an interview with Zane Lowe.
“We captured me at this moment in time when I was reunited with the love of my life, and we decided we were going to be together forever. The whole message of the album then is this love exists. This is a real love," she said at the time, per The Hollywood Reporter. "Now I think what the message of the album is very much if you were wondering if you have, like me at times, lost hope, almost given up, don’t. Because true love does exist, and some things do last forever, and that’s real."
