Yesterday Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney hosted a major event in the lead-up to their wedding: their engagement party. People was told by a source that Lawrence and Maroney had family and friends in New York City yesterday for the "glam" celebration. The couple was photographed en route to the party, Lawrence in a peach L. Wells bridal dress. Maroney wore a navy suit with a grey tie alongside her.

Lawrence's stylists Jill Lincoln and Jordan Johnson shared a photo of Lawrence in her look at the party. 'Here she comes! We couldn’t be happier and more excited for #jenniferlawrence to become a #MRS.. this weekend we toasted Jen and her groom to be.. too good of a time was had by all,' they wrote. Lawrence acccessorised her dress with Leighton jewels, a Roger Vivier bag, and Casadei shoes.

Lawrence's rep confirmed her engagement to Maroney in February. The news broke after Lawrence was seen wearing the engagement ring Maroney gave her while at dinner in New York City with her new fiancé.

People got intel from a source that month about why Lawrence and Maroney work so well together. 'He’s a great guy,' a source told the outlet then. 'He’s smart and funny and I think really keeps her on her toes and he doesn’t treat her like a celebrity like the other boyfriends did.'

Lawrence and Maroney were previously seen looking at New York City venues-possibly for their ceremony itself, whenever it happens-last month. A source told People in April that Lawrence is a 'family girl' and 'I would be surprised if the wedding were not a fairly extensive family affair.'
