Met Gala 2019: Jared Leto carries a replica of his own head as an accessory
There’s no room to play things safe on the Met Gala red carpet and with this year’s theme dedicated to all things ‘camp’, it was undoubtedly one of the most exciting ceremonies to date.

Yes, the 47-year-old took to the pink carpet decked in Gucci with a faux head (complete with eerily accurate glossy locks and beard) in his clutches – a surprising take on the miniature handbag trend.
But it was in fact a demonstration of his commitment to the label, as models carried replica human heads down the AW18 runway.

Though this small fact didn’t stop Twitter from poking fun, as social media users took to the platform to question his choice of accessory.
One asked, “Why does Jared Leto’s fake head look more like Jared Leto than Jared Leto?”
While another joked: “This explains why Jared Leto hasn’t aged a day since ‘My So-Called Life’. Spare heads. When one wears out, he just changes it!”
