ITV This Morning's Josie Gibson breaks cover amid Stephen Mulhern 'romance'
This Morning star Josie Gibson has broken cover for the first time amid rumours of a 'romance' between her and fellow ITV star, Stephen Mulhern.
The pair sent the rumour mill into overdrive when they were spotted holding hands outside a television studio on Saturday, 13 April, as they filmed a feature for the last ever episode of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, which came to an end after 20 years on-air.
Josie, 39, added fuel to the fire as she later told MailOnline: "I'm in love with Stephen Mulhern. There you go." However, she then added: "But story of my life, I don't think he loves me."
OK! has contacted Josie and Stephen's reps for comment.
Following the candid admission, Josie, who is mum to a five year old son named Reggie, was back on our screens on Wednesday, 16 April, as she presented the This Morning competition segment live from a canal boat in Wiltshire.
The TV star was glowing as she went for a nautical theme with her outfit - rocking a pair of blue jeans and a striped shirt, as well as a cream-collared coat. She also donned a sailor hat as she confidently spoke to the camera.
Despite their long-standing friendship, Stephen, 37, and Josie have always kept things strictly platonic in the public eye. Last year, Josie got candid about her romantic life, revealing she was seeing someone new and had already dropped the L-bomb.
She spilled to the outlet: "There is someone in my life at the moment but it's early stages...I've said I love you," reports the Daily Star.
Josie believes in wearing her heart on her sleeve, admitting: "It's best to just get it out of the way, I don't like playing games."
Last year, Josie was rumoured to be dating ITV cameraman, Sam Morter, after they were spotted looking cosy in Paris, but she later took to Instagram to shoot down the chatter.
She said: "I am not in a relationship, neither am I in love with cameraman Sam. I am not with Sam Morter.. I love Sam Morter, he is my work colleague, I'm like his older sister. I'm like his auntie. That's as far as it goes."
Meanwhile, Josie recently addressed speculations that she was set to step into Holly Willoughby's shoes as This Morning's permanent female presenter, before Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard took over the reigns.
In a recent chat with the Daily Mail, Josie explained that living outside of London with her five year old son Reggie, whom she shares with an ex-partner, would have made it difficult for her to fill one of the vacancies left by Holly and Phil. "If I lived in London I would have loved the job," she said.
