ITV This Morning's Cat Deeley fires back at Ben Shephard as he pokes fun at her outfit on show

ITV's This Morning had a bit of a bumpy start on Wednesday when presenter Ben Shephard teased Cat Deeley live on air, accusing her of dressing like a dancer from Eurovision. Prior to the exchange, Lorraine Kelly had conducted an interview with Eurovision Song Contest UK entry Olly Alexander. Following the chat, the broadcast switched over to This Morning for a preview of what lay ahead.

Ben joked: "You had lovely Olly Alexander on earlier, we're talking more about Eurovision. Cat's actually come as one of his dancers!" His comment left Cat in fits of giggles and banging her hands on the desk.

Standing to show off her get-up - a shimmering vintage burgundy shirt coupled with a brown leather skirt - Cat retaliated: "I have not! I'm in a vintage shirt today, Lorraine, because we've got the guy from the Sewing Bee on! And I've got a leather skirt on." Emphasising this point at Ben, she continued: "It's not the same!"

Playing along, Ben countered: "I thought it was, she could have been one of his dancers." In response, Cat pulled a highly expressive amused face, reports the Mirror.

Not long before this exchange, Eurovision Song Contest UK entry Olly addressed disapproval of his performance in Sweden the previous night. During Wednesday morning's episode of Lorraine, Olly confronted the objections from fans. He expressed that his time in the Eurovision Song Contest so far had been absolutely "wild", while the host labelled his act as "naughty".

The Eurovision Song Contest has kicked off with a bang as the first semi-final aired on Tuesday, and the BBC was there to capture all the glitz and glamour. Eleni Foureira, the fabulous former Cyprus contestant, opened the show in style, dazzling everyone with her glittery outfit and a troupe of backup dancers dressed in sleek black.

Olly Alexander, the former Years and Years singer and star of hit TV series It's a Sin, graced the stage representing the UK. Debuting 'Dizzy' as his first solo-written single, complete with some seriously slick stage production, Olly's performance sparked a mixed bag of reactions online, with fans quick to comment on every note.

While some viewers pointed out that Olly seemed "off-key" and "out of tune" others leapt to his defence, suggesting the mishap with his mic pack slipping off mid-performance might have thrown him off. "As a gym instructor I know how off putting that is," sympathised one supportive X user, adding, "An amazing performance just got elevated even higher!"

The following day, Olly appeared on Lorraine's ITV show, smiling as he chatted with the beloved Scottish host via video link. Lorraine couldn't help but praise 'Dizzy', calling it "a banger" and playfully expressing her wish to be in the music video. Olly responded with his trademark charm: "Thank you Lorraine, you are welcome to join me on stage if you want, you're more than welcome."

"It's such a huge thing," Lorraine Kelly gushed on her show. "It's massive." Olly then shared his Eurovision excitement: "This whole Eurovision experience is wild. Last night was amazing. It was the first time performing in the arena and on TV. It was just... yeah, it was amazing."

He also confessed to the little hiccup during the performance: "I had a slight wardrobe malfunction - my mic pack fell off - and had to improvise but that's fine - it's live TV, it happens." Lorraine praised him, saying: "You did so, so well with that," and reassured him: "I think a lot of people - I noticed it - but I think a lot of people wouldn't have noticed that the mic came away. So you're having to adapt, so well done on that. And also, what a naughty performance I'm glad to say! I thought it was fantastic - those dancers! They are just fantastic! ".
