ITV Emmerdale fans slam 'awkward' and 'cringe' seduction scenes
One latest storyline in Emmerdale has left many fans cringing, as they slam recent scenes where Manpreet Sharma attempts to seduce Billy Fletcher.
The narrative unfolds as Manpreet signs up to Billy's PT fitness business, leading to unexpected romantic feelings on her part. Despite her subtle hints during their training sessions, Billy remains oblivious, focused on his own relationship issues.
Manpreet was recently left mortified after her partner Charles proposed in public, only for her to reject his proposal and say she would rather keep things as they are. Now frustrated by Charles' lack of attention, Manpreet's crush on Billy has become increasingly evident. However, viewers are not buying into this plot twist.
Taking to social media platforms, fans have criticised the storyline, with one describing it as "awkward" and "cringeworthy."
One wrote: "EwwwManpreet stop praying on Billy [sick emojis] fkg cringe."
Another questioned the believability of Manpreet's sudden infatuation with Billy, writing: "yeah of course Manpreet who's known Billy since he came to village would just one day fancy him out of nowhere. FFS come on have some gumption."
A third tweeted: "However unhappy Manpreet is in life in general or just with Charles (Just dump him) still doesn't give her the right to try & destroy Billy's Marriage too.
"Especially as him & Dawn are gonna have more than enough on their hands dealing with Son Evan's diagnosis sadly."
It comes after spoilers revealed a heartbreaking diagnosis for Billy and Dawn's infant son Evan, who is diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
Against this backdrop, viewers expressed frustration at the soap's decision to introduce a romantic subplot for Manpreet, deeming it inappropriate and ill-timed.
One wrote: "So during Billy's receiving devastating News about his son, they throw in a cougar lusting over him? Wow so tacky."
Elsewhere, things came to a head between Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) and Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) in recent episodes, leading viewers to wonder if things could turn nasty between the pair.
Tension between Eric and Jai has been mounting after Eric blackmailed Jai into firing Victoria Sugden (Isobel Hodgins).
In Monday's episode, Eric and Jai got into a heated exchange in The Hop and didn't hold back. Jai eventually threatened Eric - leaving fans wondering if his words were a hint about what's to come.
"Look, I am grateful for all your help with Amit but this is taking liberties," Jai raged as Eric hit back: "You are in no position to negotiate, old chap."
Jai replied: "I don't need to negotiate, you know what I can do when people cross me, Eric," who responded: "You're threatening me? What are you going to do? Dispatch me down the stairs?"
