The internet is baffled by Gucci's "sock sandals"
Twitter users can't handle Gucci's latest statement shoe. Nordstrom recently tweeted out an ad of the label's "Ilse Sock Sandal" sparking reactions like, "WAIT. WHAT IS THIS?" and, "omfg why?"

It probably doesn't help that the shoe, which is currently only available for preorder online, retails for $1,190 (approx £952).

The shoe was part of Gucci's spring/summer 2017 collection, which was shown during Milan Fashion Week in September 2016 and comes in calf-height and over-the-knee styles.
For what it's worth, the sock part of the shoe can actually be removed, leaving the much more subdued red sandal on its own. Two items for the price of one? Now it's kind of starting to sound like a value!
