Inside Rio Ferdinand’s rarely seen son Lorenz’s 18th birthday party as stepmum Kate shares pics of big day
Rio and Kate Ferdinand went all out throwing an extravagant party for Rio's eldest son Lorenz's 18th birthday.
And the blended family didn't hold back at all on the details, transforming their home into a temporary nightclub - complete with photo opportunities, party favours and personalised cocktails.
Lorenz, was enveloped in love, surrounded by family and friends, including Rio's twin sisters - Remi and Anya, who were gifted special sunglasses emblazoned with "LR18" to remember the special day. Ever the proud stepmum, Kate, who opened up about raising 5 kids, snapped a picture of Lorenz sipping his first legal drink - a cocktail crowned with an edible topper that read "Lorenz turns 18".
The beautiful photos from the night featured Kate happily snuggling up with Lorenz, who is set to move back into the family home over summer, and Rio on the picture-perfect photo area.
In terms of attire, the gentlemen opted for classy all-black ensembles while Kate looked stunning in black trousers and a white bodice top adorned with elegant black bows down the front.
One amusing moment caught on video saw Rio playfully teasing Lorenz, pinching his cheeks.
The monochrome-themed bash sees the family boogie all through the night, with even little Cree joining the dance floor beautifully dressed and rockin' ear protectors.
Fresh from pursuing his dreams, Lorenz recently returned home after training with a football squad, following his father's path. He just ended his season with Brighton and Hove Albion's youth set-up last month.
With football running strong in his veins, shared by three Premier League stars in the family, Lorenz is already setting his sights towards his own professional career.
While Rio made a name for himself as a tough centre back for West Ham and Manchester United, his son Lorenz is carving out his own path as a goalkeeper for the Seagulls' academy.
Kate became a step-mum when she tied the knot with Rio back in 2019. Rio had welcomed children Lorenz, Tate and Tia with his first wife Rebecca Ellison, who tragically passed away in 2015, after a battling breast cancer.
Discussing becoming a step-mum, Kate previously admitted that she didn’t quite know what she was letting herself in for when she started seeing the Manchester United legend. Speaking on Anna Richardson’s, It Can’t Just Be Me podcast, she said: "I went from being a single, carefree girl to a stepmum-of-three. And these kids have gone through so much, and there’s grief. It’s all a bit of a blur. It’s hard to know what you’re getting into sometimes until you’re actually in it. Until you’re in it, you don’t really realise. I felt a little bit shocked, I didn’t really know how to parent."
The pair also share two children together, three year old son Cree and daughter Shae, who was born in July 2023.
Kate first found fame on The Only Way Is Essex - then known as Kate Wright. She began dating Rio in 2016, with the pair making their romance public in January 2017.
