Inside new dad Olly Murs’ epic 40th birthday celebrations with gigantic Greggs cake
He may be busy on tour with Take That, but that hasn’t stopped Olly Murs from taking the time to celebrate his milestone 40th birthday.
The Heart Skips A Beat singer, who recently became a dad to baby daughter Madison, spent time marking turning the big 4-0 with his loved ones on Tuesday, 14 May before celebrating surrounded by fans in Birmingham as he took to the stage as part of Take That’s This Life tour.
In a series of snaps uploaded to his Instagram Story, the former The X Factor star revealed that he’d kick started his day with his baby daughter Madison, as well as his wife Amelia Tank.
In one photo, Olly shared a glimpse at his birthday breakfast as he tucked into an “insane” breakfast wrap that featured sausage, egg and bacon.
In the background of the picture, fans caught a peek at some of the birthday cards that Olly had received, including one adorable card from Madison which read: “Happy first birthday as my daddy”.
In addition to the cards, Olly was also surrounded by a series of polaroid pictures that were scattered on the table which appeared to feature him and wife Amelia. There was also a garland made up of similar polaroid style pictures.
To make the day even more wholesome, the Please Don’t Let Me Go popstar also shared a photo of Amelia’s special babygrow which featured the words: “Happy 40th Birthday Daddy” on the front.
No birthday would be complete without cake, and Olly’s birthday celebrations were no exception. In fact, to mark the special day, the singer was treated to a special cake which was in the shape of a Sausage, Bean and Cheese Melt from Greggs.
Meanwhile, he was also given a cherry red velvet cake which was decorated with a picture of himself that was captioned “HBD angry Murs!”.
Olly’s birthday celebrations come after he revealed his plans to expand his family just one month after he welcomed daughter Madison into the world.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine, the musician opened up about his life as a first-time dad.
“I think me and Amelia, since we got with each other, we knew that we were lifetime partners, and that having a family was what we wanted, and kids. It just feels really normal, to be honest with you. It just feels like it was meant to be,” he said.
He added: “Three would be lovely, but we've just got one, we're happy at the moment. We will just get over the next couple of months first, see how we get on.”
