After Lady Gaga’s amazing Super Bowl performance, the social media trolls came out to play.

A barrage of comments pointing out Gaga’s ‘pot belly’ were posted with plenty of people giving their opinion on her tiny outfit which featured a shoulder-heavy Versace crop top and sequinned knickers.

Although Gaga’s Little Monsters came to the rescue, the singer herself has also responded to the ridiculous fat shaming.

Last night, she posted a picture of herself in the ‘controversial’ ensemble with a caption that read: “I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too.”

“No matter who you are or what you do. I could give you a million reasons why you don’t need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That’s the stuff of champions. Thank you so much everyone for supporting me. I love you guys.”

The 30-year-old star has been open about her struggles with eating disorders in the past, revealing that she spent much of 2013 suffering from bulimia and depression. However, Gaga appears to have overcome it, telling Harpers Bazaar: “I am better with food. I don’t have an eating disorder anymore.”
