I'm a Celebrity's Coleen Rooney opens up on surprising holiday destination
Currently taking on the jungle experience for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Coleen Rooney , the wife of former England footballer Wayne Rooney, has revealed her family's holiday of choice is a very down-to-earth destination. In the latest episode the mother-of-four was chatting to her fellow campmates about holidays and Coleen revealed that she and her family enjoy regular breaks in a very humble Welsh location.
While discussing caravan holidays Coleen said she goes a "couple of times a year" to a caravan in Wales. She said: "We go a couple of times a year... My kids love it, the entertainment, they used to have a band on [in a place] called The Hut, you used to take all your own ale, you all used to get up and sing a song! Kids used to be out until whatever time."
Talking to the cameras Melvin Odoom, DJ and TV host, who is also in the jungle said: "I think it is so cool that Coleen takes her kids on caravan holidays. That girl is down to earth like I think I am more boujee than Coleen." For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.

Previously Coleen has been spotted in the Llyn Peninsula, with her three children Kai, Kit, Cass, and Klay and it is believed they were staying in Abersoch. In August 2023 Coleen posted photos to her Instagram of the family enjoying time in the resort, with the caption: "Always the best time in Abersoch." followed by a wave emoji and a love heart emoji.
During the episode, which ended with Tulisa ejected from the jungle, Coleen, Melvin and Alan Halsall from Coronation Street, also shared her experiences holidaying in caravan parks as kids.
Melvin said: “My only family holiday when my parents were together was Scarborough at a caravan park and I loved it!”
Alan shared: “That was pretty much all we did up until I was the age of 12. I never went abroad until I was 12-years-old. We’d pull up to this farm up in the Lake District every year and it was just a caravan and there were fishing lakes and stuff and we'd go out fishing or rock climbing and we'd play hide and seek in the hay bales and everything, it was incredible.”
Coleen then added of her childhood caravan holidays: “We used to have one when we were kids, my dad bought it for £200 and it didn’t have a toilet, so we had a dunny and we used to call it the p*** pot.” She joked: “We got £50 back when it got scrapped so we got our money’s worth!”
While the Rooneys' family holidays can see them jet off to UAE, Paris and New York, the family have long enjoyed staycations in the UK at north Wales and Blackpool. Coleen and Wayne are estimate to have a combined net worth of £200millon, according to The Sun. The married couple have both contributed to their incredible wealth through different means, including promotional contracts, books and of course, Wayne's lucrative footballing and managerial career.
Their previous Welsh destination of choice, though, is known to be one of our 'poshest villages'. The 'Welsh Riveria' as it is often known boasts fantastic beaches, internationally recognised sailing waters, beautiful scenery and a high street filled with trendy bars, restaurants, big brands and independent shops alike - recently a wooden shack went on sale for a guide price of £150,000, see more on that, here.
Recently Jane Moore, who was one the first celebrities to be voted out of the 2024 series of I'm A Celeb, revealed a private chat she had with Coleen which prompted her to call the campmate "a grafter". Jane shared that Coleen had confided in her about initially "struggling with big personalities" in the jungle and finding the early days challenging, yet this exchange wasn't broadcasted.
Discussing their bond, Jane said: "Excuse me, I now call her, Col. Yeah, we're not Coleen anymore. She is brilliant, she is very quiet and reserved, so I thought in the camp I'd just quietly get to know her, you know, let her come out of her shell a bit.
"And she did sort of confide in me that she was a bit overwhelmed at first by all the big personalities in the camp, which is understandable, but I really think that she's coming into her own now. She is such a grafter, Linda Robson, she makes you look messy and dirty."
