Idris Elba has revealed the person who was cutting the best dance moves at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding in 2018 – and it was none other than the bride herself.

The Luther actor was asked to be the DJ at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding reception, and said that Meghan was “really letting it go”.

“I think Meghan was the one that was really like letting it go,” he told ET Canada. “You know, she was real… She just had a lot of fun. It was her wedding. So she had the greatest time.”

The wedding reception was held at St George's Hall in Windsor following the television ceremony at St George’s Chapel on May 19 that year.

In a previous interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Elba said he thought the prince was “joking” when he asked the actor to DJ at their wedding.

“So Harry and I have hung out a couple of times through his dad’s [King Charles’] charity – The Prince’s Trust – which helped me out when I was a young actor,” Elba said at the time.

“Harry came to a couple of parties that I DJed and he was like, ‘What are you doing on [May 19]? I told him nothing and then he asked if I would DJ at his wedding... I was like, 'Is this a joke?'”

Elba later said that DJ-ing at the royal wedding was an “incredible” experience but a “lot of pressure”.

The comments come after Buckingham Palace changed the titles of Harry and Meghan’s children on its website to reflect their new titles.

They are now known as Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, with the Sussexes using the title themselves for the first time this week after announcing that Lilibet was christened in Los Angeles on Friday.

A representative for the Sussexes told Yahoo UK’s Executive Editor (Royals) Omid Scobie: “The children’s titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became Monarch. This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace.”
