I tried these rug grippers (on sale for $9) and they work way better than a pad
Get 45% off the nonslip stick-ons that 46,000+ reviewers (including me) consider a favorite home hack.
A few nice rugs can give your home a warm, cozy look and feel. And for those of us who live in cities, separated from neighbors by a few layers of wood or drywall, they can act as a noise barrier too. But if you've ever used a rug on a bare floor, you know that one wrong step can send you sliding like a clown on a banana peel. To keep mine in place, I searched Amazon and found these popular Home Techpro Rug Pad Grippers. They would give me the best bang for my buck and (according to shoppers' reviews) were the most secure and easiest to install. Not only was I sold, but I was so impressed with my first set that I ordered another just a few days later. And right now, you can get a four-pack on sale for just $9!
Why is this a good deal? 💰
Traditional nonslip rug pads are fairly affordable, but they're pretty large (usually the same size as your rug) and a pain to install. These attach to just the corners of your rug, so you don't have to pull your rug entirely off the floor to attach it. Plus, thanks to the on-page coupon, this four-pack is on sale for under $10. No complicated installation and a steal of a deal? Color us impressed.
Why do I need this? 🤔
As is the case in most apartments in NYC, my hard floors need to be covered with rugs or carpet to help muffle noise for my downstairs neighbors. I opted for area rugs in most of the rooms in my apartment, and while they look great, it annoyed me how much they moved around anytime someone walked on them. A quick internet search revealed rug pads would stop this, but some rug pads cost as much as $50. Having just spent hundreds of dollars on the actual rugs, I did not want to spend that much on rug pads.
That’s how I stumbled upon these Home Techpro Rug Pads Grippers. A quick video showed how they stick right onto the bottom of your rug or bathmat to prevent it from moving around. The video and the affordable price convinced me to buy a set of eight for the rug in my living room and the mat in my bathroom.
I’m happy to report these Rug Pads Grippers worked perfectly on my round area rug and my bathmat. I put four on my 8-foot rug, and now it stays put no matter how much people move on it. I used two on my bathmat, and I no longer have to worry about it slipping from under me when I step out of the shower with wet feet. Given how well these grippy stick-ons worked, I immediately bought more for the rugs in the other rooms in my apartment.
What reviewers say 💬
I’m not the only person who now swears by these Rug Pads Grippers. They have more than 46,000 five-star ratings at Amazon — and a whopping 20,000+ four-packs have been snapped up in the past month alone.
Pros 👍
"I have had a couple of rugs in my kitchen that just don't want to stay in place, despite having a 'nonslip' padding underneath," one reviewer said. "Since placing [the Home Techpro Rug Pads Grippers] at each corner of my rugs, the rugs don't move a bit."
You don't have to worry about these damaging your floors either: "I like that these adhere to the rug, not the floor," one fan wrote. "What makes them work is that they have a gripping, almost sticky surface that keeps them adhered to the floor, but they do not stick to the floor, just grip."
"We've had these in the house for two months now and [have] no movement in the hallway, no stickiness and I can easily lift the rugs off the floor and clean," another shopper added. "We have a rug at the front door with a lot of traffic. Kids, pets, [and we even threw] a party since getting these and no slips have happened. And it keeps the corners down."
Cons 👎
One user shared that your rug won't stay completely flat unless you put these grippers as close to your rug's corners as you can: "The only thing I wish I did differently was put the pads as far to the corners as possible, just so my corners were completely secure and laid flat. That's just a recommendation for whoever reads this."
Another shopper with a larger rug had another fair critique: "The only thing I wish was that they covered a larger strip," the reviewer noted. "I'm going to have to use several on one side to keep the carpet from being a tripping hazard."
If you need to secure two rugs, this set gives you the exact number that you'll need, and it's on double sale!
