Hollyoaks to bring in Prince and Hunter's scheming dad
Hollyoaks' Prince and Hunter McQueen will be getting the surprise of their lives when their "wheeler dealer" dad suddenly reappears.
The latest edition of Hollyoaks' popular YouTube show #HollyGoss introduces us to Goldie McQueen's (Chelsee Healey) former husband Shane, played by Lanre Malaolu.
Sitting alongside his on-screen sons Malique Thompson-Dwyer and Theo Graham, Lanre Malaolu reveals a bit of Shane's troubling backstory.
"I'm coming in to play Shane - Goldie's ex fella," Lanre teases. "Shane's recently released from prison and he's headed to Hollyoaks to make up with the missus. He gets straight back to business!"
He's also the first to admit that Shane might not have his sons' best interests at heart when he turns up to surprise Prince and Hunter.
"Shane is a bit of a wheeler dealer," Lanre admits. "He's very money-driven. He loves his family, but when it suits him."
It looks as if the McQueen kids will be divided over their dad's return, with Prince willing to put the past behind him whereas Hunter picks up that Shane could be scamming the whole family.
New cast member Lanre Malaolu previously had a recurring role in The Bill, and has also appeared in Holby City, The Armstrong and Miller Show and Fallout.
All of this family drama comes while Prince's love life heats up as he finds himself drawn to Diane Hutchinson's niece Lily Drinkwell (Lauren McQueen).
Hollyoaks continues on Tuesday (January 10) at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
