Due to the ongoing lockdown, Holly Willoughby is celebrating her mum Linda’s 72nd birthday from afar today.
The TV star, 39, marked the special occasion with a sweet picture of the pair – prompting her fans to note how similar the mother and daughter looked.
Posting to her 6.7m followers on Instagram, Willoughby shared a throwback snap of them hugging and beaming at the camera, as they sported almost identical blonde bobs.
Captioning the image – taken before the coronavirus pandemic – the This Morning presenter wrote: “Happy birthday to my beautiful mumma...miss you so so much...can’t wait to cuddle you again...love you.”
Her post was popular with social media users, who left more than 112,000 likes and their own birthday wishes.
One person wrote: “Wow now I know how you are so beautiful .”
Another commented: “Peas in a pod.”
A third shared: “She is beautiful Holly and you are so alike.”
And a fourth added: “See where you get your good looks from Holly.”
Willoughby, who shares three young children with husband Dan Baldwin, also has an older sister, Kelly.
The star is likely to party with her mum via video call – as she did with her girl group recently.
Earlier this month, she enjoyed a virtual catch-up with four friends, including two pop stars – Spice Girls’ Emma Bunton and All Saints’ Nicole Appleton.
In a snap of their Zoom meet-up shared to Instagram, Willoughby could be seen going make-up free as they all tuned in for a chat from their respective homes.
Captioning the image, the star – in a grey sweater with her blonde hair tied up, revealing glowing skin – wrote: “Oh I miss these faces so much...Apart and yet totally connected... miss my girls...”
The trio of famous women were also joined by Niki De Metz, a PR and author, as well as music talent manager Shiarra Bell.
Holly’s post was popular with fans, who left more than 64,000 likes.
One person wrote: “It’s the all natural beauty squad!”
Another commented: “Now this is the conversation every woman in Britain wishes they were part of. So amazing, you are all truly beautiful and total legends.”
A third shared: “Can I be in your girl gang?”
And a fourth added: “Keep smiling ladies you'll all be back together soon. Stay safe.”
