Why Rihanna's new beauty range is called Fenty

Rihanna’s new beauty line Fenty dropped earlier this month and it’s been causing a buzz ever since.

Not only thanks to it’s exciting spectrum of inclusive foundation shades, but also because the launch of the new range revealed something personal about RiRi herself.

Because it turns out the name Fenty wasn’t a moniker just plucked out of thin air, or conjured up after a creative brainstorm, it’s actually part of the singer’s actual name.

Yep, in case you were wondering the all round super star that is Rihanna was actually born Robyn Rihanna Fenty.

And now that the cat is out of the bag RiRi fans have been taking to social media to express their surprise at the big reveal.

“Just found out Fenty is Rihanna’s surname and not just a made up word,” one user wrote on Twitter.

“When you figure out that Fenty is @rihanna last name,” another fan tweeted alongside a shocked face meme.

“Fenty is actually Rihanna’s last name. Mind. Blown,” added another

But of course some superfans already knew RiRi’s full name.

“If you never knew that Fenty is Rihanna’s last name you were truly never a fan,” one woman wrote.

“People really didn’t know fenty was rihanna’s last name? how else would she come up with that?” added another.

That’s not the only name fact some of us have been in the dark about either. Turns out we’ve been pronouncing Rihanna wrong too.
