Harry and Meghan's 2024 Holiday Card Is Out...and Offers a Rare Peek Into Their Garden
Per royal family tradition, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sent out a digital holiday card to colleagues and acquaintances earlier today. It features six photos, including a picture of their family at their home in Montecito, California.
In the photo, five-year-old Archie is running to Megan, while three-year-old Lilibet is running to her dad. Alongside them, their two beagles, Mamma Mia and Guy, as well as their black Labrador, Pula, are part of the scene. The photo offers a rare glimpse of the kids, who were last seen in a brief moment in the couple’s docuseries Harry & Meghan, which debuted on Netflix in December 2022.
The photo also offers insight into their tranquil garden and their Californian way of life. In the photograph, the family stands on a paved driveway of Tuscan-style bricks lined with foliage. Just beyond, we get a peek into the 7.38-acre garden that surrounds their mansion, complete with abundant trees that appear to be wrapped in a string of lights, purple flowers, and tropical bushes.
In 2022, the Duchess shared with The Cut that they had only toured the grounds—and hadn’t even been inside—when they told the real estate agent that they had to get the home. “We did everything we could to get this house... It's healing. You feel free,” she told the publication.
Despite the property’s immediate appeal to the couple, there are rumors circulating that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are selling their Montecito home. There was also speculation that the couple purchased a vacation home in Portugal earlier this year. However, whether they move on or stick around, the garden has clearly been a special place for the family, who have designed the space with their children in mind.
The card also features five photos of Harry and Meghan during their trips to Nigeria and Colombia earlier this year.
“On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation,” read the card’s message on a dark green background. “We wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year.”
