Harry and Meghan won't reveal the name of their dog because it's 'too private’
Any addition to the Royal Family sparks interest - even more so when it’s connected to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
That goes for pets too, but in the same way the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are cherishing the privacy of son Archie, they’re keeping details about their pet pooch under wraps too.
The couple have refused to reveal the name of their dog and they’re not the only royals to keep their pet private, according to royal commentators.
Speaking on Yahoo UK’s Royal Box, royal commentator Omid Scobie says: “Pets are off limits for all members of the royal family.”

He said Harry and Meghan had chosen not to reveal the name of their four-legged friend, but aren’t the first royal couple to make that decision, with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge initially keeping details about cocker spaniel Lupo secret.
“I remember when the Cambridges first got Lupo there was such a furore over the name of the dog,” says Scobie.

“I think it drove press secretaries crazy that they regularly had all of us asking what was the name of this dog.”
Victoria Murphy recalls that the name of the Cambridges’ dog actually only emerged after Kate told a child at an official engagement.
Meghan and Harry reportedly adopted a Labrador puppy in the summer of 2018.
Meghan is a well-known dog lover but was only able to bring one of her two rescue dogs to the UK with her when she moved as the other was too old to make the move.
But according to a story in The Sun earlier this year, neighbours of Meghan and Harry were issued with a set of rules that included not stroking the couple’s dog or offering to walk him.
