The Golden Globes 2025: The 10 best-dressed stars
Last night marked the unofficial start of the 2024 awards season as the Golden Globes took place – and if they are anything to go by, it's going to be a very good few months on the red carpet.
There was an excellent turnout of gowns this year, from custom couture to archival finds and pieces taken straight from the spring/summer 2025 catwalks. Zoe Kravitz proved the power of simplicity in her streamlined Saint Laurent gown, while Zendaya turned heads in custom-made Louis Vuitton, and Nicole Kidman shimmered in silver Balenciaga. And she might have skipped the main red carpet, but we didn't miss Selena Gomez's perfect pastel-hued Prada.

Elle Fanning in Balmain
Elle Fanning went for the wow factor on the Golden Globes red carpet, in this dramatic 1950s-inspired ballgown by Balmain. The dress, which was primarily in a nude satin, featured a nipped in corset before cascading into a huge all-encompassing skirt. The leopard-print accents on the bodice provided the perfect unexpected finishing touch.
Zendaya in Louis Vuitton
Zendaya never misses on a major red carpet and last night was no exception. The star arrived in a strapless custom Louis Vuitton gown with a full train in a striking golden-orange hue. She accessorised with matching pumps and dazzling Bulgari jewellery.
Zoe Kravitz in Saint Laurent
Zoe Kravitz cut an elegant figure in her monochramatic Saint Laurent look. The strapless gown featured a contrasting sash belt which tied in a bow at the back of her waist and trailed out behind her on the red carpet. She added a pair of glittering Jessica McCormack earrings.
Anya Taylor Joy in vintage Dior
Anya Taylor Joy went digging into the Dior archives for her Golden Globes look, a backless silk slip dress in the palest of pinks, worn with a tasselled, delicately embroidered wrap. She added an intricate floral diamond-encrusted necklace and matching cuff bracelet, and strappy Jimmy Choo sandals.
Selena Gomez in Prada
Selena Gomez skipped the main red carpet but was in attendance along with the rest of her Emilia Perez co-stars, and looked like a modern-day Cinderella in her pastel-hued custom Prada dress, which featured an off-the-shoulder neckline. She styled her look with vintage-inspired waves and seriously sparkly Tiffany & Co jewellery.
Anna Sawai in Dior
Shogun star Anna Sawai took home the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series last night, and did so in style, wearing this chic white Dior two-piece, consisting of a corseted top with a gently flared peplum and a full length skirt.
Zoe Saldana in Saint Laurent
Zoe Saldana was another of the night's big winners, taking home the award for Best Supporting Female Actor in a Film – her first ever Golden Globe. She shone on the red carpet in a sequinned Saint Laurent dress and Cartier jewellery, but it was the accompanying chocolate-brown wrap that added a dose of drama.
Nicole Kidman in Balenciaga
Nicole Kidman turned to a tried-and-tested brand for her Golden Globes appearance, looking statuesque in a shimmering silver Balenciaga gown. The asymmetric style was completely backless and fell into an elegant pool around her feet.
Angelina Jolie in Alexander McQueen
Angelina Jolie looked to the fashion week catwalks for her Golden Globes moment, stepping out in the metallic fringed finale dress from the Alexander McQueen spring/summer 2025 show (although she opted to forgo the accompanying hooded headdress). She paired the shredded style with matching silver court shoes and a half-up, half-down hairstyle.
Emma Stone in Louis Vuitton
On a red carpet full of neutrals, monochromes and metallics, Emma Stone bought a burst of colour in her scarlet Louis Vuitton gown. The simple, strapless dress featured a satin belt and a structured skirt with exaggerated hips. She also took the opportunity to debut her brand new pixie cut.
