Glee star Jenna Ushkowitz pregnant with second child saying 'We're so excited'
Glee star Jenna Ushkowitz, 38, has announced she's expecting her second child with husband David Stanley. The actress, who played Tina Cohen-Chang on the hit show from 2009-2015, shared the exciting news with People, expressing her joy at expanding her family.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2021, are already proud parents to two year old daughter Emma.
Jenna recalled the moment she found out she was pregnant: “So I packed it and the day before we left the trip, I was like, 'Something feels very familiar about this feeling and let me just take this test.’ I did.
“And when pregnant came up, my jaw dropped. I was shocked. And then overjoyed, of course.”
She also shared her husband David's reaction: “He was upstairs, and so he came down the stairs. I still had a look of shock on my face and he was like, 'No way.’ He just knew and he was just so, so happy. We were so excited for our daughter to be a big sister and to expand our family. It's just really, really special.”
The pair first crossed paths on the dating app Hinge in 2018 and got engaged in August 2020. They said their vows last July at the historic Lombardi House in Hollywood, surrounded by 104 of their closest friends and family members.
Jenna is best known for her role as Tina Cohen-Chang on the Fox comedy-drama musical Glee, which ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2015.
She is also a two-time Tony Award winner for her work as a producer of the Broadway musical Once on This Island, and has gained recognition for her performances in Broadway musicals such as The King And I and Waitress.
The announcement comes after fellow Glee star Darren Criss and his wife Mia Swier also announced they have become parents for the second time as they shared the name of their newborn son on social media.
The actor and his wife welcomed their son on Monday 3 June and revealed the tot's unique name: Brother Laszlo.
The tot joins their two-year-old daughter Bluesy Belle. Darren took to Instagram to share a photo of the newborn swaddled in an R2-D2 print blanket, with oversized sunglasses seemingly held over his face by his big sister. The caption read: "M + D just delivered their follow-up single. Brother Laszlo Criss. 6/3/24. Out now."
This appeared to be a nod to the announcement he made when Bluesy was born, where he shared a family photo and wrote: " M+ D made some sweet music. Bluesy Belle Crisss , 4/11/22 Out now."
