Gillian Anderson wears this season's hottest colour
Gillian Anderson was the epitome of elegance while attending the 2024 Booker Prize Awards on Tuesday night (12 November).
The Sex Education and former X-Files actress opted for a beautiful maxi dress in the colour of the season: burgundy.
The autumnal hue immediately added some understated drama to Gillian's outfit while keeping her look simple, giving us another lesson in cool-girl chic dressing.
Her sleeveless gown also had pockets, a rare feature in red carpet dresses, meaning Gillian managed to look both glamorous and relaxed as she posed for pictures with her hands in her pockets.
She paired her dress with some classic black stilletos and wore her hair in a low ponytail, looking perfectly effortless.
Inspired by Gillian's outfit? With many of high-street brands jumping on the burgundy bandwagon, it's truly a colour we can all embrace in our wardrobe and is an easy trend to dip your toe into this cosy season.
Good Housekeeping's Fashion Director gave tips on how you can nail burgundy this season: "If your wardrobe is dominated by neutrals, dark, rich hues of burgundy will feel more wearable, even to the colour-shy. The colour looks great paired with black, cream, camel, grey and denim, making it a super adaptable trend to buy into this season. However, if you’re feeling brave, sister shades of burgundy and red also look incredible together too."
"Seeing as it's the colour to be seen in this autumn, the 'fizz buys' I suggest purchasing are either a burgundy bag or coat. The epitome of elegance, it's a great colour to update your wardrobe staples."
