Gigi Hadid opted for an elegant 50s and 60s inspired look for the Met Gala 2021, which followed the theme 'In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion' at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

The 26-year-old model wore a monochrome Prada ensemble, which consisted of a strapless, figure- hugging dress, with a back split and black tights underneath, matching bejewelled Prada stiletto heels, and a Prada hair piece on top of her lustrous ponytail for the star-studded event.

She added a pop of colour to the look with a sweep of blue eyeshadow, perfected by make-up artist Erin Parsons, who shared details of the pre-Met Gala prep on her Instagram account.

Though Gigi's look was designer, some of the cosmetics the beauty expert used on the mother of one, who gave birth to daughter Khai last September, are affordable high street numbers.

Erin has revealed she used Maybelline's Eraser Eye Concealer on Gigi for the bash, which not only covered any imperfections or dark under-eye from late nights with her little one, but also provided the smooth and flawless coverage that lasted all evening.

Why we rate it

The Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer is a long standing favourite in our books, and now has the celebrity seal of approval.

Plus, a spokesperson for the brand confirmed it is currently Britain's number one selling concealer. Impressive, right?

£8.99 at Boots

The concealer contains coloured pigments, which work to create full flawless coverage that doesn't crease or look "cakey".

It also has a cushion tip to help it blend smoothly onto the skin, and to ensure no excess concealer clogs on the skin.

It comes in 18 skin colours, and retails for a very affordable £8.99 from Boots, although it is also available to buy online at Amazon and Lookfantastic.

What the reviews say

If it's good enough for Gigi, it's good enough for us. But just in case you need a little extra proof it lives up to the hype, here are what Boots shoppers have to say

  • "It has amazing coverage, a lovely sponge applicator and does not crease, I use this under my eyes to hide my very dark circles and as soon as I use this, they're gone!"

  • "The coverage is really good. You would have never guessed I had dark circles. There's no ashy tone to it or shadow afterwards and application is very smooth, creamy and blendable."

  • "This is my go-to on "no-makeup makeup days" when I am looking to grab something quick to conceal dark circles but don't have the time for a full face of foundation and the works."

  • "One of the best concealers I've ever used...perfect shade and good coverage."

  • "After trying what feels like 100’s of concealers I can say I have found the perfect one. Covers dark circles and blemishes so easily."
