General Mills Unveils an All-New Super Bowl Snack You Didn’t See Coming
It's a "match made in mashup heaven."
The Super Bowl is just around the corner, and while we don't know which teams will be playing for the title yet, we do know one all-new snack you need to have for your watch party — and it's absolutely not what you expect.
Earlier this week, General Mills revealed that it is bringing together two completely unexpected flavors for what it calls "one winning combination" with its Cinnamon Toast Crunch Pizza. No, it's not an actual pizza you put in the oven. Instead, it's pizza-flavored Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. And even that pizza flavoring is special.
"This pizza-flavored cereal is a match made in mashup heaven, with bold flavors featuring the irresistible Cinnadust from Cinnamon Toast Crunch, paired with the savory pizza taste you know and love from Totino’s Pizza Rolls — served up in a pizza delivery box-inspired package for the ultimate experience," the company explained in a statement shared with Food & Wine.

It's a little unclear how this mashup should be served. The packaging shows it as a typical bowl of cereal with milk, but with the additional pizza flavoring, it may be better off all on its own as a snack for game day. But the way you enjoy this snack you never knew you needed, is totally up to you.
There is, however, one catch with Cinnamon Toast Crunch Pizza. It won't be sold in any stores. Instead, cereal and pizza fans (or cereal pizza fans) can head to shop.cinnamontoastcrunch.com starting Tuesday, January 28 at 7 p.m. Eastern to get a free box of the limited-edition treat. It's all on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you want it, you better be ready to click "purchase" at 7:01 p.m.
As a consolation prize, the company noted, "For those who can’t get their hands on the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Pizza flavor, head to your nearest grocery store for Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Totino’s Pizza Rolls to stock up for the Big Game."
