Gavin & Stacey star and co-creator, Ruth Jones, is to star in Harlan Coben's Netflix follow-up to Missing You. Streaming service Netflix has confirmed that the Porthcawl actress will be starring in Run Away, alongside Irish actor James Nesbitt, Minnie Driver and Alfred Enoch.

Run Away follows the recent successful series Missing You, which followed the story of Detective Kat Donovan, who discovers her 'missing' fiancé on a dating app, a decade after his disappearance. The upcoming limited series, Run Away, will enter production later in January. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter.

James Nesbitt, who also starred in Missing You, will lead Run Away as the character of Simon, a man whose perfect life starts to crumble after his daughter Paige (Ellie de Lange) runs away. Speaking to Tudum, Coben said: "Run Away is about family — about what we will do to keep our family intact, what secrets we keep within our family, and what secrets we keep as a family".

He continued: "Everytime you walk past the house, there’s a whole universe that goes on behind that door and none of us have a clue what it is." Welsh actress Ruth Jones, who has just come off the hugely successful Gavin & Stacey: The Finale episode which was aired on Christmas Day, will play the role of Elena Ravenscroft.

In keeping with previous Coben adaptations, Run Away will relocate the story from the USA to the UK. Coben added: "Jimmy Nesbitt, Ruth Jones, Alfred Enoch, Lucian Msamati and Minnie Driver – the cast is an embarrassment of riches. I can't wait to start filming."
