Gavin & Stacey star Joanna Page nets huge win on gameshow
Joanna Page was watched by millions on Christmas Day as she returned to our TV screens as part of the cast of Gavin & Stacey. But that's not the only time she has starred on the small screen over the festive season having also featured in the Christmas special of Wheel of Fortune.
The Swansea-born actress was on the ITV show, presented by Graham Norton, together with fellow famous faces Richard E Grant and Tyler West. And she made it to the final round of the show having gathered winnings of £9,950 through the rounds. She was competing to raise funds for Many Tears Animal Rescue Centre based in Cefneithin, Carmarthenshire.
Asked by the host of the charity she was competing for she said: "Many Tears Animal Rescue – a fab charity in Carmarthenshire in Wales." It wrote: "Oh! What's occurring? We would like to say a massive thank you to the incredible Joanna Page, who appeared on the Wheel of Fortune Christmas Special! Joanna's chosen charity was Many Tears Animal Rescue and, oh my Christ, she won an incredible £34,950!
"We are absolutely speechless – it's lush, proper lush, and we can’t even begin to express our thanks and gratitude to Joanna. It's such a huge sum of money that will make a world of difference to all of the dogs we care for. Joanna, you’ve made this Christmas crackin’ and we couldn’t be more chuffed! From everyone at Many Tears, diolch yn fawr iawn Joanna! You've given us and the dogs the most wonderful Christmas gift we could have hoped for."

The last episode of Gavin & Stacey, set in Barry, written and starring James Corden and Ruth Jones, drew in 12.3m viewers, beating the last Christmas special five years ago, and making it the biggest Christmas Day overnight audience since 2008.
