Gap’s latest collaboration with Dôen is a real summer’s dream

You know it’s going to be a good summer when Gap announces it is collaborating with luxury brand Dôen.

Here at Red, we’ve been shouting about the Californian-based brand for quite some time, especially for spring and summer dressing. So, you can only imagine our delight when it was announced that a limited-edition collection with high street hero Gap is arriving on 23 May.

Since launching back in 2016, Dôen – the celebrity-approved womenswear brand founded by sisters Margaret and Katherine Kleveland – has been blessing us with beautiful boho blouses, staple trousers (our Editor-in-Chief swears by them) and timeless floral summer dresses; real stuff of summer capsule wardrobe dreams.

And it’s no secret that the American-heritage Gap has also upped its game, collaborating with key womenswear favourites such as LoveShackFancy just last year.

Dôen’s latest partnership with Gap goes back to the brand’s roots and celebrates sisterhood – which is aptly echoed in the faces of the campaign: model siblings Lily and Ruby Aldridge. "The timeless and iconic nature of the Gap brand is so inspiring to both Katherine and me," says Margaret Kleveland, Co-Founder and CEO of Dôen. "We wore the brand endlessly as children and now dress our own little ones in their never-out-of-style essential pieces."

The 46-piece collection comprises of both womenswear and kids’ pieces and is rooted in denim basics and classic khakis, as well as on-trend accessories – think handy tote bags and baseball caps – perfect for tapping into this season’s current tenniscore trend.

But the real showstoppers have to be the capacious wide-leg trousers, milkmaid style broderie anglaise dress and ever-so-comfy logo sweatshirts. There's even shared prints across the women's and kids’ collections, so you can have an adorable matching moment.
