'Bum rip' jeans now exist and the Internet has questions
Another day, another questionable denim trend. Today, we’ve been introduced to jeans which feature ‘bum rips’. A bizarre look, we think you’ll agree.
Online retailer, Pretty Little Thing, has launched a pair of black skinny jeans which take the whole ripped aesthetic to new bum-bearing heights.
Described as ‘Distressed Bum Rip High Waisted Skinny Jeans’, the divisive item comes with a not-too-terrifying price tag of £25.
And for those of you who prefer classic denim, you’ll be pleased to learn that they’re also available in a sky blue hue.
But where on earth would you wear them?
According to the website, the jeans are designed to enable customers to ‘flaunt some skin’ and are perfect for ‘hitting the town with your besties’.
And sure enough, the Internet has some thoughts.
One social media user took to Twitter to write: “Girl, those jeans are a hazard. Who approved them?”
While another joked, “I feel like that would rip every single time you sit down and get up.”

My mother would have bought me new pants if this happened to me.

It isn’t the first time the Internet has been left baffled by a ‘must-have’ trend.
Who can forget Topshop’s suspender jeans which took social media by storm a few months back? Or how about Fashion Nova’s bizarre lace-up numbers?
Though as one social media user points out, they’re still not as bad as that viral denim thong pair.
Still not as bad as those denim thongs tbh
