Fred From First Dates Has Launched His First-Ever Wine

Forget Snoop Dog's 19 Crimes or Post Malone's Maison No.9, there's a new celebrity special on the scene... and this time, he's an actual wine connoisseur. Known for hosting First Dates on Channel 4, Fred Sirieix has launched his *first-ever* wine, and it's in partnership with none other than Marks & Spencer.

Launching today (17 November), fans will be able to get their hands on a bottle of Fred's Beaujolais Nouveau – a light and fruity red bursting with juicy flavours of cherries and strawberries.

Made just after the year’s grapes have been harvested, Beaujolais Nouveau is the first wine of the new season and is officially released in France on what's known as ‘Beaujolais Day’ (the third Thursday in November) with fireworks, music and festivals. And under French law, the wine cannot be released any earlier than 00:01am on that Thursday. Yep! You know it's good when there's a law involved...

Fred says: “Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé! I’m very excited to have chosen this year’s sensational Beaujolais Nouveau blend for M&S, guaranteed to be the perfect party drink this season. It’s a brilliant wine to have on hand when family and friends come to visit, and an absolute must-have to accompany festive nibbles. This is an incredibly special time of year because you can only get your hands on this French classic for a limited time after its release this week, so be quick!”
