Frasier has been picked up for a full-series revival by Paramount+.

Interest in resurrecting Kelsey Grammer's psychiatrist-turned-radio-host Dr Frasier Crane dates back to 2018, when the star himself began weighing up ways in which to slip back into his most beloved character.

Now, Deadline reports that ten all-new episodes will likely make it to air (that number isn't written in stone yet), following last year's confirmation that streaming service Paramount+ was on board.

Writers Chris Harris (of How I Met Your Mother) and Joe Cristalli (of Life in Pieces) are the driving forces behind the new Frasier, which is said to be filming this autumn.

"Frasier's gonna change cities again," Grammer previously teased of his character's return.

"He thinks he's gonna go off and do one thing, and sure enough, his life takes him in another direction, and he ends up rich beyond his dreams."

Reacting to the revival's official home of Paramount+, the actor shared in a statement back in February 2021: "Having spent over 20 years of my creative life on the Paramount lot, both producing shows and performing in several, I'd like to congratulate Paramount+ on its entry into the streaming world.

"I gleefully anticipate sharing the next chapter in the continuing journey of Dr Frasier Crane."

CBS Studios president David Stapf added: "Frasier is one of the most acclaimed comedies in modern television history and truly defines premium storytelling.

"There has long been a call from fans for its return, and that call is now answered thanks to the amazing Kelsey Grammer reprising his iconic role of Dr Frasier Crane and a brilliant creative plan from Joe, Chris and Kelsey. We can't wait to reveal its next chapter on Paramount+."

Frasier will stream on Paramount+ in the US.
