First look at Meryl Streep's new drama, Extrapolations
Apple TV+ series Extrapolations has unveiled a gallery of first-look images ahead of its launch this March.
Featuring a coveted ensemble cast in Meryl Streep, Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), Edward Norton (Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery), David Schwimmer (Friends), Marion Cotillard (Inception), Gemma Chan (Don't Worry Darling), Murray Bartlett (The Last of Us), Daveed Diggs (Snowpiercer), Tobey Maguire (Babylon), Michael Gandolfini (Daredevil: Born Again) and Sienna Miller (Anatomy of a Scandal), this eight-episoder is written and directed by Scott Z Burns (Contagion).
The action covers climate change in a near-future world where mankind must contend with the impact of the environmental crisis while deciding how to alleviate our rapidly-changing planet.
In a statement, Burns previously explained the concept behind the show (via The Wrap): "The only thing we know for sure about the future is that we are all going there together – and we're taking with us our hopes, our fears, our appetites, our creativity, our capacity for love and our predilection to cause pain.
"These are the same tools that storytellers have been using since the beginning of time. Our show is just using them to keep time from running out."
If that's not enough to convince you to subscribe to Apple's streaming service, there's plenty more televisual gold to be found in the dystopian workplace thriller Severance, as well as two series of Gary Oldman's spy drama Slow Horses, plus For All Mankind, which really deserves more attention.
The first three episodes of Extrapolations premiere Friday, March 17 on Apple TV+, with the remaining five airing weekly thereafter.
