The First 'Borderlands' Trailer Is Here

It's been 15 years since Gearbox Software brought forth the Borderlands series with the release of the first Borderlands video game. The action role-playing title has seen two sequels and countless spin-offs release over the years, with a film adaptation announced in 2015. Now, after almost a decade of waiting, including news in June of 2021 that the film had wrapped up production, fans have been treated to the first trailer of the Borderlands film.

The action-packed preview clocks in at just under three minutes with stars Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Kevin Hart as Roland, Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis, Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, Florian Munteanu as Krieg and Jack Black as the voice of Claptrap all teaming up to take on aliens and bandits. Directed by Eli Roth, its story is set to be authentic to the themes of the video games, however, exists independently from the events that occur in the games.
