Fearne on wearing facial scars "with pride" after tumour removal
Fearne Cotton — who this month announced her split from Jesse Wood, who she has been married to for 10 years — has opened up about learning to accept facial scars after having two tumours removed from her face.
ICYMI, the presenter and Happy Place podcast host recently revealed she had discovered a growing lump under her ear along her jawline. It was later discovered that Fearne had two benign tumours — meaning the cells are are abnormal but not cancerous — and underwent surgery to extract them.
Now, just three weeks on from the operation, Fearne has taken to Instagram to post a series of recovery photos and, in the caption, share a message about how the health scare has impacted her.
"The human body is incredible," the caption began. "In less than three weeks you can barely notice where I had the tumour removed. I feel almost normal. My ear is still quite numb and my face a little tender but other than that I'm feeling good."
"I found the whole process fascinating and feel very grateful that the operation went well and that the tumour was benign," she went on, thanking her surgeon and the nurses that supported her through the process.
"Feeling grateful that I'm healing well," the 43-year-old continued, as she closed off the caption by saying she will always wear the scar "with pride" while also taking it as a reminder to "slow down and look after myself."
In the comments section, fans thanked Fearne for being so open about the experience, with many expressing how her honesty has helped them accept changes to their own body.
"I'm thankful for your post," one person, who is waiting for a similar surgery, commented. "Sending healing hugs," another Instagrammer wrote, as a third added: "You are so brave, thank you for sharing your experience. Wishing you a slow and steady healing journey, and most importantly good health and happiness for 2025."
Best of luck on your recovery Fearne, you've got this!
