Tilly Sveaas: A Fashion Writer's honest reviewAlexandria Dale, Tilly Sveaas

If you’ve added a chunky gold chain to your jewellery box in recent years – surely everyone, no? – then you’ll definitely have come across Tilly Sveaas. Founded in 2016, the London-based eponymous label is one of our favourite affordable jewellery brands thanks to its timeless designs. Specifically, the T-bar detail that adorns the necklaces, bracelets and even earrings in the collections. It's an instantly recognisable Tilly Sveaas signature.

And we’re not the only fans. Sophie Turner was seen sporting the Giant Silver T-bar Hoop Earrings *and* the Medium Gold T-Bar Belcher Chain earlier this summer, with Florence Pugh, Rita Ora, Kylie Jenner, Millie Bobby Brown, Nicola Coughlan and Taylor Swift also customers. Add in the number of fashion insiders who count Tilly Sveaas pieces as staples in their jewellery boxes, it's no wonder the brand has quickly achieved cult status.

T-bar jewellery aside, the brand also delivers classic huggie hoops, domed rings made for stacking and statement bangles. Essentially, those everyday pieces that complete an outfit.

The pieces are classic in design (Tilly is hugely inspired by the past) while simultaneously possessing a contemporary feel, providing the perfect finishing touch. Sitting somewhere between Mejuri and Hey Harper in terms of price point and with the same mass appeal as Astrid & Miyu, Tilly Sveaas jewellery acts as something of a cheat code for curating a minimally chic accessory aesthetic. Something considered a must-have for any fashion girlie worth her salt.

When I got the opportunity to try out the brand IRL for myself, I obviously opted for the trademark T-bar edit, selecting the Giant Silver T-Bar Necklace on a curb chain. Though T-bar necklaces start at £80, this is one of the larger styles so is priced at the opposite end of the spectrum at £340.

Silver jewellery has had a huge resurgence in the past year, but it's still a struggle to find trend-led pieces that match the quality and design of gold jewellery – something I know all too well as a life-long silver devotee. But before you rush to get out your teeny tiny violins for me, I'm pleased to report Tilly Sveaas has an extensive silver offering, equal to that of its gold collection with some mixed metal styles available too for those bold enough to style silver and gold together. Trust me, it's a look.

Layered with a selection of dainty, finer chains, the chunky T-bar effortlessly elevated my simple off-duty weekend attire of jeans and a t-shirt, making me feel like I'd still made somewhat of an effort with my ensemble. However, as I was trialling the XL size, worn alone was when it really shined. Sitting pretty between my collarbones, it added interest to my go-to workwear outfit of a classic black waistcoat and toughened up a slip dress for a summer date night, the heaviness contrasting with the slinky satin fabric.
