One thing is for sure: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle love being parents.

The Sussexes welcomed Prince Archie back on May 6, 2019. Princess Lilibet Diana — named after the late Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana — followed two years later on June 4, 2021. As their roles within the royal family changed over the last couple of years, culminating in their exit in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been "reluctant" to share photos of their kids, hoping to give them "as normal a life as possible."

But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have happily shared their joy at being parents when speaking at different events, and even given fans some tiny glimpses of life with their growing kids. From Valentine's Day bake-offs to serene moments at home, see some of the most adorable family moments Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have shared.

“I felt so loved,” Meghan told Drew Barrymore of the gesture. “That [Harry] had planned it in advance to make sure it was there when I got to my hotel room, it was really sweet.”

For the launch of her lifestyle brand, As Ever, the Duchess of Sussex treated fans to this adorable photo in which she's seen hand-in-hand running across a lawn with her daughter Lili. The three-year-old keeps up with mom as her vibrant red hair shines under the sun.

Meghan told PEOPLE that she involved the children in the show's filming
, even though she taped it outside of their "safe haven" home space.

"Archie did the [filming clapboard]! Sweet moments," Meghan said. "They would also come with my husband and visit me on-set, and I loved that my children were able to watch me working and see the balance of that and understand what Mama does and is working to create and share. It was really special because up until then, they hadn’t seen me at work.”

On Valentine's Day, the proud mom gave followers a rare glimpse of her kids. By her side was three-year-old Lili, whose little hands could be seen working on her own bagel.

Prince Archie also made a brief cameo in the sweet video. The five-year-old could be seen rocking a red T-shirt while throwing shimmering streamers open before a window, where pink and red balloons floated outside.

Meghan told PEOPLE that their mornings together are "fast" as she gets everyone ready, but she does love to find time for a "surprise pancakes" when she can: "They don’t know what’s going to be on the other side when it flips over,” she says, noting that it might be sprinkles or a happy face made of chocolate chips.

On Jan. 8, Meghan revealed the passing of her rescue dog, Guy, whom she'd had since 2015. "He was with me at Suits, when I got engaged, (and then married), when I became a mom…." she wrote. "He was with me for everything: the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort."

In the snap above, Prince Archie can be seen holding guy on a leash while out for a walk with the family.

This serene picture of the entire family was released ahead of Harry & Meghan, the Sussexes' 2022 Netflix docuseries. Prince Harry could be seen holding Lili on his shoulders while Archie was comfortable in his mom's arms.

Meghan has said how much she loves parenting her two "chatty, sweet" kids. "“I love being a mom,” Meghan said on a panel in May 2024.  "Being a mom has always been a dream of mine. And I'm so fortunate that we have two beautiful, healthy, very chatty, sweet children.”

The docuseries also gave a glimpse into the family's quiet life and we got to see H & M in full parent mode.

On sharing the Sussex name, Meghan told PEOPLE, “I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me ... It is part of our love story. I think as the kids get older, they’re so excited about, ‘Oh my gosh, Mama and Papa, how did you meet?’ I think that will come with time as they get older, but for right now a huge part of our love story is that we share the name Sussex."

The Sussexes have only shared a very small number of photos that show their children's faces and red hair, including their 2021 Christmas card (below).

“The Spencer gene is very, very strong," Harry told Stephen Colbert of hair color trait shared by many in Princess Diana's family. "I actually really, genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship [with Meghan] that, should this go the distance and we have kids, that there’s no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife’s genes — but I was wrong!”

But Meghan has passed on her own great hair genes as well: a journalist reported in October that Prince Harry said his kids were "blessed with their mother's thick hair" and that Lili would soon be able to sit on hers!

During their 2021 interview with Oprah, Harry and Meghan shared a black-and-white video clip of their growing family playing at the beach with their dogs.

"To have outdoor space where I can go for walks with Archie and we go for walks as a family and with the dogs. You know, we go on hikes or go down to the beach, which is so close," Harry told Oprah.

Months away from being a big brother, Archie took the lead on their family walk.

In 2025, Meghan told Drew Barrymore that the kids occasionally emulate Harry's British accent.

"Oh, some of the words that they still say with a British accent," she said. "So they'll say, 'Zebra,' and what else do they say? They have these little moments where it comes out. They have very American accents, but they say words that are just like him, and I think it's adorable. Zebra is a good one."

In 2021, Harry included a clip of Archie on the swings in his mental health docuseries The Me You Can't See, and gave a little insight into his family's impact on raising Archie.

"I got a photo of [Archie's grandmother Princess Diana] in his nursery, and it was one of the first words that he said — apart from 'mama,' 'papa,' it was then 'grandma.' Grandma Diana," Harry said. "It's the sweetest thing, but at the same time, it makes me really sad because she should be here."
