Euphoria star Chloe Cherry – who plays newcomer Faye on the hit HBO series – has opened up about how she handles negative comments about her lips.

Speaking to Paper magazine, Chloe reflected on receiving comments about her lips that "hurt a lot". Recalling the "weird comments" she faced, that focussed particularly on her lips, the 24-year-old explained that she was taken by surprise by people's strong opinions on this.

"I had no idea," she said of the hate she's received over her appearance. "Nobody in my life said, 'Oh, your lips are so huge'." The former adult film star went on, "Like these lips are actually on my face, you know?"

Interestingly, Chloe points out how other body modifications – like tattoos and piercings – don't receive the same sort of backlash that lip fillers do. "People get tattoos all the time and do weird shit that's 'unnatural'," she said. "So why can't I do something that's 'unnatural' because I like how it looks?"

It's something she's continued to grapple with since the show aired earlier this year, and questions why "people think that it's okay to say that about someone's looks." Interestingly, she points out the difference in the kind of comments she receives now compared to when she was working in the adult film industry, which were predominately positive.

Yet, Chloe does her best to brush the negative comments off, simply putting the trolling down to teenagers with too much time on their hands. "Teenagers have the time to obsess over things," she explained. "I learned this when I was a teenager. Adults don’t have the time, but teenagers actually do, so they make a bunch of fan pages or share all your photos with their friends."

This isn't the first time the actor has opened up about her appearance, recently sharing that she suffered with an eating disorder early on in her career. Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the now 24-year-old revealed a former agent had called her "fat" when she was just 18 – a comment that triggered an "obsession" with her weight.

"It just turned into an eating disorder cause I was so young at the time," Chloe added. "He said that to me when I was 18, and it was so f*cking freaky because no one in my whole life had ever said that I was fat and then it just became an obsession."
