Rumours about which designer is behind the wedding gown that Meghan Markle will walk down the aisle in when she marries Prince Harry on 19 May come in thick and fast each week. And today, all signs are pointing to London Fashion Week favourite, Erdem.

The small but potentially telling reason for the Canadian designer's leap to the front of the pack is regarding the brand's decision to expand its team and move its PR in house. Erdem revealed via Diary Directory today that it would be shifting from using an agency to hiring a full-time PR manager.

Of course, the reason behind the company expanding its staff may have nothing at all to do with the royal wedding, but bringing its PR in house would certainly be a helpful (and necessary) move for a brand that was about to be inundated with requests following news that it designed the dress of the year.

Erdem has been a favourite for a while so it would not be altogether that surprising if Markle has picked the brand for her big day. The actress has worn the label on multiple occasions (as has her future sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge), Markle is almost certain to choose a British brand and her connections with Canada would also be fitting as that is where the designer, Erdem Moralioglu hails from.

However, we cannot take this little clue to mean too much considering how many rumours are flying around about the dress. Just last month, bets were suspended on who would be the designer of choice following a surge of support for British couture house Ralph & Russo. This company is also currently expanding its PR team, so could that mean it is the frontrunner?

We really can't be sure who has bagged the biggest design job of the year until the morning of 19 May. If you're too impatient to wait, click below to see what we predict the dress will look like.
