EmRata just wore a Dua Lipa-approved backless halter top
Here on the Cosmo UK Fashion Desk, it's our job to keep you up to speed with the latest trends (bubble skirts, if you were wondering) and what your fave celebs are wearing on the red carpet (a bejewelled cut-out ball gown if you're Blake Lively) and off-duty, too (hello to Julia Fox in a maxi skirt made from boxer shorts).
Well, ticking both boxes is Emily Ratajkowski donning a backless halterneck top just a week after Dua Lipa wore a similar design. Yep, consider this your official notice: an open-back halter is the newest celebrity-approved summer fashion trend to know.
EmRata was spotted out walking her dog in New York yesterday [Sunday 11 August] wearing the white cotton jersey top that featured a plunging halter neck, split hem front and all-over silver stud detailing. It was secured by a single drawstring tie around her bust and we've identified it as the Mia Camisole by Gimaguas.
Gimaguas is a Spanish word and Cuban slang for ‘twins’ and is a nod to the Barcelona-based brand's founders, twin sisters Claudia and Sayana Durany who launched their trend-led ready-to-wear label in 2018. With Bella Hadid and Kylie Jenner also fans, the designs are fashion girl-verified. Including EmRata's top – which is currently on sale and still available in most sizes, but you better be quick.
This follows just last week when Dua Lipa was seen wearing a now sold-out backless Shushu/Tong top. Featuring the same halter silhouette and open-back design, Dua's take on the trend featured a see-through fabric adorned with 3D black floral motifs.
