Emma Stone's make-up inspired by movie character
Emma Stone's current make-up looks are inspired by the character she plays in new movie 'Poor Things'.
The 35-year-old actress plays a young woman brought back to life in the new film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, and Emma has admitted her red carpet looks have become more "simple" as a nod to the naive Bella Baxter seen on screen.
She told Vanity Fair: "Because Bella, my character, is so without shame and self-judgment, I think that applies to beauty in a huge way, and confidence around beauty.
"So with this press tour, [my team] and I have been talking about a kind of inspiration of Bella and that sort of simplicity but still having fun with colour and youthfulness."
Emma's make-up artist Rachel Goodwin added of her current looks: "[It's] minimalist approach to the make-up, being really strategic especially in regards to the skin."
She revealed the actress prepared to hit the red carpet for the movie's New York premiere by giving her skin some serious TLC which started with a steamy shower followed by a BioEffect hydrogel mask and a hyaluronic serum. Emma wore Pat McGrath Labs’ Skin Fetish foundation, and Goodwin said of the product: "It was actually designed to look like skin because she used it backstage on fashion shows where designers did not want that made-up look ... [It's about] embellishing versus perfecting."
Goodwin added that Emma wore a Pat McGrath liquid eye liner and her lids were dusted with ChromaLuxe Artistry Pigment.
She went on to insist Emma's brows were also a major nod to her movie character, explaining: "The brows were very much a big piece of Bella’s character. [The look Emma wears now is] a softer version, a bit more groomed of course - but they’re definitely present."
