Emma Raducanu has received an MBE for services to sport, which she was presented by King Charles at Windsor Castle yesterday.

In the past year, the tennis champion has shown a keen interest in style – something that she demonstrated when receiving her accolade, wearing a sheer lace Dior dress that was cinched in at the waist with a wide belt. She accessorised her look with bow-detail ankle-strap heels and a matching black boater hat.

Last year, Raducanu made history when she won the US Open at the age of 18; she became the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title since Virginia Wade in 1977, as well as being the youngest British player ever to win the title.

She expressed her gratitude for the MBE in an official statement: "It's been great to receive my honour today from His Majesty the King – I feel extremely grateful."

She also shared the moment on Instagram, captioning her post: "A great honour receiving an MBE from his majesty the King today – pretty amazing day."

Aside from her success in sporting world, Raducanu is now a regular face among the fashion crowd, thanks largely to her partnership with Tiffany & Co and her role as a Dior ambassador.

What would the star tell her younger self, after achieving so much in such a short space of time? "To enjoy the moment more," she previously told Bazaar. "A lot of the time I was always thinking ahead, of what I could be doing or [wondering] if I was missing out on things. I wasn't so present. But some of those times where I was looking ahead are actually some of the best memories."
