Emeli Sande reveals same-sex relationship, says she's 'happier than ever'
Emeli Sandé has revealed she is in a relationship with a woman.
The Read All About It singer 35, who was previously married to marine biologist, Adam Gouraguine, opened up about meeting "the one for life".
Sandé was married to Gouraguine between 2012 and 2014 before the couple separated after more than 10 years together.
But the singer, whose new album, Let’s Say For Instance, is out in May has since fallen in love with a female classical pianist, who she met while she was learning about classical music herself.
"I definitely feel happier than ever. It feels great," she told Metro.
"For me, true love and having love in your life makes everything fit into place."
She also spoke of how “difficult” it is not to have someone "behind the scenes" to share her achievements with or to support her through her work.
But now, Sandé said she feels “very fulfilled” going to to add: “I’ll always love music and I love my career but now it just feels that despite what happens, I can just enjoy life and be really happy.”

Despite opening up about her same sex relationship, Sandé doesn't necessarily want to put a label on her sexuality.
Asked if she now identified as bisexual, Sandé, who was previously linked with rapper Jonathan Kabamba, responded: "I’m not sure what I identify as but I guess so. I just feel like I should fall in love with whoever I fall in love with."
The announcement comes after Sandé unveiled the video for her new single, There Isn’t Much, which showcases the talents of a group of dancers from the LGBT+ community.

In 2014, following her divorce from Gouraguine, Sandé told The Times that though the couple “were mates, but maybe we shouldn’t have been married.”
She went on to say she felt as if she was “pretending to be someone else” during her marriage.
“I just didn’t know who I was," she said. "And I felt I was being taken further and further away from who I really was and from my family. Spiritually as well I felt I was just drifting on this path ’cause I thought it was the safest path to take.”
The Beneath Your Beautiful singer went on to add she has "nothing bad I have to say about him," referring to her ex partner who she met in her gap year between leaving school and going to university.
Earlier this week Sandé apologised to fans for lip-synching during Concert for Ukraine.
When she performed her single Brighter Days, some viewers speculated on social media that she was not actually singing.
Sandé later explained that she was in fact miming the song, but it was because she had lost her voice.
“I really wanted to sing but I woke up the day of the concert and my voice was like this,” she told fans in a video, in which her voice is audibly hoarse.
“It was really annoying because the day before I was singing Mariah [Carey] totally fine and I had to make a very difficult decision. Do I pull out of the concert which I really don’t want to do or do I lip-sync to the track?”

She went on to apologise to her fans that she had never lip-synced before and would never do it again.
“I apologise to everyone who noticed that it was a lip-sync. I promise that it will never happen again, but I hope that the message of the song still came through.”
