What to know about ME+EM's sale this Black Friday
Here at Red, we’re huge fans of ME+EM and wouldn't mind grabbing a few discounted items from the British label. However, unsurprisingly, the brand isn't taking part in Black Friday 2023.
But, despite ME+EM choosing not to partake in the Black Friday sales this year, the brand does partake in some discounts around the Christmas period in its clearance section
As the absolute antithesis of fast fashion, it makes sense that ME+EM doesn't usually participate in Black Friday. But fear not, the brand still always has a clearance section to shop and its current offers are frankly irresistible.
Right now, you can buy suit trousers, coats, dresses, and other wardrobe staples for up to 60% less. So, it's definitely worth taking a peek at the site on the big day. You never know what gems you'll find.

While the brand doesn't usually discount new-in pieces to celebrate Black Friday, ME+EM frequently makes additions to its clearance section. So, in theory, you'll still be able to catch a ME+EM bargain on Black Friday — as long as you're speedy. Here are some of Red's favourite sale finds right now:
If you don't manage to find anything you like in the clearance department, there are still merits to shopping at ME+EM on Black Friday. Instead of a 24-hour flash event, the brand usually donates £10 from every purchase made on Black Friday to The Prince's Trust.
This is fitting, considering the brand's founder and CEO Clare Hornby is an ambassador for the charity's Women Supporting Women initiative. The money will go towards helping disadvantaged girls and young women across the UK, so as well as treating yourself to some new outfits, you'll be doing a whole lot of good.
The best thing about ME+EM is the quality of its items. The brand's main aim is to deliver you items that are "flattering," "functional," and that you can wear "forever". It's the sort of label that, when you make an expensive non-sale purchase, you don't regret it.
If you're looking for sturdy boots to last you from year to year, and dresses to sling on for the office or glam up for parties, ME+EM is your new best friend.

Does ME+EM take part in Black Friday?
ME+EM doesn't participate in Black Friday. For some, the iconic shopping day is quite overwhelming, and — even if you’re trying your best to shop sustainably — the persuasive deals from fast fashion brands can often encourage panic buys. As a brand that champions buying less but choosing well, ME+EM tries to discourage such purchases.
In an official statement last year, the retailer said: “We don’t believe in fast fashion. We don’t rush when it comes to making our clothes, and we don’t want you to rush when it comes to shopping them.
“We believe in making considered investment pieces that make you feel confident, that we know you’ll wear constantly and that will last for years to come. I appreciate that we aren’t the cheapest brand on the market, but I hope you’ll agree that the price is surprising once you discover the exceptional quality."
Does ME+EM participate in Cyber Monday?
Similarly to Black Friday, ME+EM doesn't take part in Cyber Monday discounting the Monday following BF. But, the brand does have a general sale page that it updates frequently so you can shop discounts any day.
What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is holiday from the US that started as a big post-Thanksgiving sales day back in the '30s. The promotional period started gaining traction in the UK back in 2010, and has since taken over from Boxing Day as the biggest sales event annually – unsurprising really, given it takes place right before the Christmas gifting period.
When is Black Friday?
Black Friday always falls on the last weekend of November, which means it will take place on Friday November 24 2023. You can expect deals to run over Cyber Weekend, through to Cyber Monday on 27 November, too.
