Ella Emhoff Embraces Tennis Whites for Lacoste’s Fall 2025 Paris Fashion Week Show

Ella Emhoff revived the tennis-core trend at Lacoste’s fall 2025 fashion show in Paris on Sunday. The stepdaughter of former vice president Kamala Harris evoked Wimbledon’s signature dress code in a short-sleeve cable-knit polo and pleated shorts.

Emhoff accessorized with Lacoste’s tennis skirt-inspired handbag, dangle earrings and a pair of lace-up shoes. The textile artist wore her curly tresses in a sleek bun, while her makeup included shimmery rose gold eye shadow.

“Thank you to the @lacoste team for such an amazing trip and making my first show such a special experience,” Emhoff wrote on Instagram. “I’ve been a big Lacoste fan since I was little, so this has been extra cool. Congratulations to @pelagia.kolotouros on a great show,” she added, shouting out the label’s current creative director.

Staged at Roland-Garros, the famed venue of the French Open, Lacoste’s fall 2025 show marked Pelagia Kolotouros’ debut with the brand. She’s previously held positions at Adidas, The North Face, Calvin Klein and Theory.

The notion of tennis whites emerged in the 1870s with the creation of Wimbledon. The annual tournament still requires that players wear “almost entirely white” — not shades of ivory or cream — on the court.

Wimbledon’s dress code was updated for the first time in nearly 150 years in 2023, when it was announced that women would be allowed to wear dark-colored undershorts if on their periods.

In a statement, All England Club chief executive officer Sally Bolton said she hopes that the new rule “will help players focus purely on their performance by relieving a potential source of anxiety.”

Tennis-themed looks emerged as a major trend in 2024, partially thanks to Zendaya’s press tour for the film “Challengers.” The actress wore a series of themed looks, including custom Loewe stilettos spiked with tennis balls.
