There's no denying that Elizabeth Hurley, 58, has maintained a pretty healthy lifestyle and fit physique throughout her decades-long career as a model and actress. So perhaps it's no surprise that in a recent Instagram post, The Piper star shared that she's asked ‘all the time’ how she stays in shape.

The Royals actress let her followers in on her nutrition ‘mantra’ — alongside a black-and-white picture of herself sporting a one-piece swimsuit from her beachwear collection, Elizabeth Hurley Beach, that showed off her super toned arms and legs.

Elizabeth began the caption by stating that she's frequently asked about what her health and fitness routine looks like, before sharing her (surprisingly!) simple answer. ‘My mantra is: don’t eat too much, too fast, too often or too late. Or, put another way, eat smaller meals, chew properly, ban snacking and eat dinner earlier,’ she wrote. ‘This works for me. I don’t drink weird green juices or shakes and only take supplements if a blood test tells me I’m lacking something.’

The Bedazzled star went on to explain her balanced approach to eating. ‘I try to have vegetables or fruit equal to half of every plate I eat – ie if I have a sandwich, I also eat an apple,’ Elizabeth continued. ‘I eat pretty much everything but only have junk food as an absolute treat – and I count junk food as anything that contains any ingredient that I don’t have in my own kitchen, so that includes ‘diet’ and ‘low-fat’ everything, all ready meals, all bought sandwiches, cakes and biscuits and all sodas.’ The Austin Powers alum also shared that her best investment was a bread maker, and she even makes a loaf a day. Oh, and she makes cakes every single weekend.

Elizabeth also gave a glimpse into her workout routine, or lack thereof, in her post. ‘Other than diet, my other advice is to move more. I don’t go to the gym or do any set exercise but I’m extremely active,’ she wrote. ‘There endeth the sermon. Let me know if this makes sense for you 💗💗💗💗💗.’

Elizabeth's fans proceeded to praise the Christmas in the Caribbean actress for her insight in the comments. ‘The Queen hath spoken,’ one person wrote. Another said, ‘Yes! To all . You are spectacular ❤️❤️❤️❤️,’ and someone else commented, ‘**goes and buys bread maker!’

The Gossip Girl alum has opened up about her nutrition a handful of times before, sharing her daily diet with Daily Mail UK. She explained that she'll start her day with two cups of warm water, noting that ‘it tastes fairly disgusting, but it's fantastic for your digestive system.’ Elizabeth also said that she carries a water bottle with her at all times to ensure she's staying hydrated throughout the day.

And as she mentioned in her Instagram post, she steers clear of processed foods. ‘I like simple, natural, easy food. I don’t really like food with a lot of chemicals or additives,’ she previously told The Cut. ‘When I’m at home in the country, I always try and eat food that’s grown locally. That goes for meats and vegetables.’

Elizabeth will even grow her own fruits and vegetables in her garden at home, especially during the summer. ‘I used to have a small organic farm, and all the meat my son ate was from the farm. Obviously, that’s not possible for most people, but supporting local farmers wherever you live is a good thing,’ she told the publication.

Her garden does more than just help her fuel her body, it also serves as her favourite way to move her body all year long. ‘I do as much outside during the winter as I do during the summer,’ she told Women's Health in 2021, regarding her year-round yardwork seshes. ‘Not only do I feel, well, actually exhausted, but also I feel that I've got the leaves up, which is also a nice thing.’

Elizabeth also shared with WH that she'd ‘rather do housework than go to the gym,’ and that she'd ‘rather scrub a mirror — it does just as much.’ The star explained that she'll even get a few squats in while brushing her teeth to help tone her legs before heading outside with her pups for a 20-minute walk to get her blood pumping, WH reported.

Clearly, Elizabeth's simple, down-to-earth approach to wellness is working for her!
