EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy is soon set to star in returning comedy-drama Boarders.

Season two of the popular show, set in a British boarding school, will air on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in February.

The upcoming episodes will see the return of scholarship students Jaheim, Leah, Toby, Omar and Femi as they attempt to survive their time at St. Gilbert’s under the rule of an acting headmistress who wants them gone.

Cassidy will be taking on the role of Sharon Hail, an eccentric teacher from a rival school.

Sharing her excitement to join the hit comedy-drama, the beloved soap star said: "I loved series one of Boarders and was so thrilled to be asked to appear in series two.

"There is such talent amongst all the cast and crew and I loved playing a very eccentric teacher. Don’t miss it!"

However, Cassidy's not the only famous face who has landed a guest role in Boarders season two.

The Traitors US host Alan Cumming is also set to make an appearance in the upcoming season.

"I've always said that letting people know you are a fan of theirs is a good idea,"Cumming explained. "And, so it was with Boarders.

"I mentioned this to the producers (who also happen to produce The Traitors), and very soon after, I found myself on the set having such a fun time!"

The show’s creator, Daniel Lawrence Taylor, enthused: "Welcoming the fantastic Alan Cumming and Natalie Cassidy to St. Gilbert’s was an absolute pleasure and they were a joy to work with.

"I can’t wait for viewers to see what they got up to on campus!"

Boarders also recently announced Loki star Wunmi Mosaku, Downton Abbey’s Cara Theobold, and Supacell star Michael Salami have joined the cast for the new season.

Boarders season one is available to stream now on BBC iPlayer now with season two launching in February 2025.
