EastEnders' Sam Mitchell considers exit after life-changing call

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Sam Mitchell will consider a shock exit next week, after receiving a life-changing phone call.

Fans of the soap will know that Sam's 12 year old son Ricky Jr. is preparing for fatherhood with fellow 12 year old Lily Slater. While Lily initially kept the identity of the father a secret, earlier this year the soap confirmed what viewers already knew – that Ricky Jr. is the dad.

In scenes that air next week on BBC One, Sam will find unlikely support in Lily's mum Stacey Slater as she attempts to get her son Ricky back on her side.

Afterwards, despite Ricky's irritation at his mum, Sam will turn up at his party against his wishes.

Later, Sam will receive a life-changing phone call which leaves her questioning whether or not to stay in Walford. Upon receiving the mystery call, Sam, who only returned to the soap last year after being away for six years, will consider leaving once more.

When Sam attempts to discuss the news that she has been offered a new business opportunity with her brother Phil, he dismisses her and shuts down the conversation.

After going to see Jack, Sam explains that her ex-fiancé Don has presented her with a new and exciting business proposal. Sam tells Jack that Don has offered her the chance to become the manager of a fancy new hotel in Spain. Upon hearing the news, an unimpressed Jack confronts Sam fearing that she will abandon their son Ricky again.

Meanwhile, Sam confides in Honey telling her that she thinks she can make money to support Ricky and the baby if she takes the new job.

Honey tells Sam that she should go for it as the amount of money Sam could make could be life changing for Ricky and the baby.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
