Eamonn Holmes on-screen 'wife' bids farewell to the show as replacement announced
Big news from GB News as presenters are switching up their roles. Isabel Webster is stepping away from the Breakfast show and Ellie Costello, aged 31, is stepping up to join Eamonn Holmes on the early-morning slot. The channel confirmed: "Ellie Costello will now co-host GBN Breakfast five days a week, presenting alongside Eamonn Holmes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and with Stephen Dixon on Thursday and Friday. Stephen and Anne Diamond will continue to co-present GB News Breakfast at Weekends."
Eamonn recently spoke about his health battle with co-presenter Isabel on their breakfast show. During a discussion about the Christmas travel warning and the suggestion of trains as an alternative, Eamonn made a heartfelt admission. "The train definitely could be a dream, but I'm now sort of wheelchair laden... you rely on a lot of people to get you on and off. It's very, very difficult doing that," he confessed. "I just threw that in...it's not a concern to anybody, but there we go," he added. Isabel empathised and said: "Well, it's a consideration for lots of people in the same position as you Eamonn."
Earlier this year, Eamonn spoke about his ongoing "epidemic of pain" which has left him reliant on a walking stick and wheelchair. Eamonn admitted the "harsh reality" could be that he may never walk alone again.

GB News have made the decision to permanently relieve me of my duties at the channel. I will speak publicly about this in due course."
In another twist, Jacob Rees-Mogg is cutting back his appearances and Professor Matthew Goodwin is set to take over some nights. The channel spokesperson explained: "Author, political commentator and pollster Professor Matthew Goodwin will join GB News as a permanent presenter in 2025, presenting State of the Nation on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night. Jacob Rees Mogg will continue as the show’s host on Monday and Tuesday."
In a shake-up of the schedule, Ben Leo is set to debut his show, Ben Leo Tonight, on Saturday and Sunday evenings starting from January. He'll also keep his co-hosting gig on Britain's Newsroom every Friday. Meanwhile, comedian Josh Howie will be at the helm of Free Speech Nation on Sundays from 7-9pm, while Andrew Doyle and Miriam Cates are set to take on more permanent roles.
